และแล้วการแข่งขันแบดมินตันชายเดี่ยว Beijing Games 2008 สำหรับ "ซุปเปอร์แมน  บุญศักดิ์ พลชนะ" ก็จบลงด้วยความฝ่ายแพ้จากคู่แข่งขันจากอินโดนิเซีย คู่ปรับเก่า "โซนี่ โดวีคันโคโร่" มือวางอันดับ 6 ของโลกไป 2 ต่อ 0 เซต 16 -21 และ 14 - 21 ซึ่งแข่งกันมา 6 ครั้งบุญศักดิ์ของเราชนะได้เพียงครั้งเดียวในขณะที่โซนี่ชนะบุญศักดิ์มาแล้วถึง 5 ครั้ง

แต่ อย่างไรก็ดียังคงหวังไว้ว่าทีมแบดมินตันไทย ยังสามารถพัฒนาศักยภาพและเด็กรุ่นใหม่ ๆ ให้มีความสามารถในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลกได้อีก และในอนาคตใครจะรู้ว่า นักแบดมินตันไทยอาจจะก้าวขึ้นแท่นเพื่อรับเหรียญทองในกีฬาระดับโลกได้ ใครจะรู้ สู้ต่อไปค่ะ คนไทยทุกคนเป็นกำลังใจให้

อ้อ!!! อย่าลืมเชียร์ยกน้ำหนักหญิงไทยรุ่น 58 กิโลกรัม "วันดี คำเอี่ยม" อีกหนึ่งความหวังเหรียญทองโอลิมปิก ปักกิ่งเกมส์ 2008 เวลา 14.30 น. วันนี้ ถึงแม้นความหวังเหรียญทองของเธอจะค่อนข้างน้อย แต่หากเธอคว้าเหรียญใด เหรียญหนึ่งได้ในการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้ เธอจะเป็น "นักกีฬาโอลิมปิคหญิงไทย คนแรกที่ได้รับเหรียญรางวัลโอลิมปิคในการแข่งขัน 2 ครั้งติดต่อกัน" นะค่ะ
